Six Lies And One Truth (or not)

I've been tagged by Jacquie Rogers for Lesa's Bald-Faced Liar, er "Creative Writer" Blogger Award.

Here are the rules: I tell either six truths and one lie, or six lies and one truth about myself, and you get to figure out which, and leave a waggish or witty comment. Everyone is offering a prize, so I will, too.

While I ponder that, I shall nominate seven other writers for this award!

I'm not very much into point to points around the internet, but when I read what Jacquie wrote about her grandfather's balls of steel, I decided that this could be fun.

Here's my list.
  1. I wear abandoned clothes that I've rescued from the sea at low tide.
  2. I was recently invited to give a speech at Buckingham Palace (but declined the honor).
  3. An ostrich once ejaculated while I watched.
  4. An Earl and a Rock musician sang "Happy Birthday" to me on my 49th birthday.
  5. I once won a cross country trophy for being fastest over barbed wire fences and ploughed fields. And I did it in high heels.
  6. I was once sued for causing a celebrity's trophy wife to wet herself. We settled out of court. I am bound not to name her. She is enjoined not to read my books anywhere but a bathroom.
  7. The only time I ever hit a man was because he threw a stray kitten into a swimming pool (the kitten was okay).

One commenter will win a $10 bookstore gift token.  Drawing will take place on Saturday May 22nd

Thank you for playing along!

Oh, this IS fun!! Okay. I think it's 6 truths and that while plenty have wet themselves over your humor, no one settled out of court??????

They are all true except you lied about the ostrich.

Moreover, John says that he is not going to play this game on his blog, so don't go there unless you want to see cranky and opinionated klawitterings.

On the other hand, I tend to get cranky and opinionated, too.

Oh, good!

We have a difference of opinion about the sexual ostentation of ostriches.

I'm not making a commitment, yet.

Okay... I'm thinking these are six truths and a lie, but I don't like to be like anyone else, and Amber already chose that, so...

I'll say six lies and a truth -- the truth being the final post about the kitten :-)

And I'll get mine up either Monday or Tuesday (depending upon how long it takes me to think of stuff).

Excellent, Marianne. Thank you for joining in.

Meanwhile, I have to retract my remark about John. He did post... hasn't designated 7 other authors, yet but he's playing.

Rowena, I knew you'd be perfect for this game. Neither am I one for pass-it=around games, but this one definitely brings out the creativity in us. :)

And I think you're one of the most creative people I know, so I'm going to say 6 lies and 1 truth.

I have personal experience with barbed wire fences and high heels, so I'm saying that one is a lie.

Oooooo...do flip-flops count as clothing? Because flip-flops are abandoned on the beach ALL THE TIME. (although I do not advise anyone to collect and re-use estranged flip-flops unless you own a big ol' tube of Lamisil)

I once found a lovely pair of men's swimming trunks.

No. I don't wear them.

I think #7 is only true one, though I also think you either tell the truth OR lie exceptionally well. I truly have no clue. LOL!

RowenaBCherry said...

Pauline,
I was thinking of you... Are you psychic? I wanted to include you in this game but I visited your blog and it didn't look like you indulged in frivolous diversions such as this.

Do you?

Would you like to be my 7th?

Pauline said...

Many thanks, Rowena! I've never done the games because, I never got a chance. I'd be honored to be your seventh. I will try to be as clever as you! :-)

Historical Writer/Editor said...

Hello, I'm going to say number four is the only true one because it would be a cool thing to happen. Oh, you must be a writer. ;) To come up with such things...

RowenaBCherry said...

The answer is that they were all true with the exception of Number 6.

No one has ever been ordered by any court, anywhere in the world, not to read my books anywhere except in the...er... bathroom.

The rest of #6 could well not be true, too.

So, my clear winner is Amber Scott.

Congratulations to Amber.

Thanks for playing, everyone else.

Thanks for embroiling me in this, Jacquie Rogers.

you are way more interesting than I am, Rowena! Congrats to Amber!
